Who we are

Bhartiya Sangeetha Sangham, BSS Montreal, is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1979 by South Indian community to promote, preserve and pursue ancient Indian Classical Art forms in Quebec.

BSS is keen on nurturing the ancient artforms of dance, music, poetry, folklore, yoga and meditation to be relevant and beneficial to the modern society. Music brings different feelings to different people and every note has the depth of an Ocean. Through the exposure to variety of arts, sounds and movements, one can cultivate life skills and lessons of finding inner peace, strength and timelessness.

With this purpose of harmonizing and uniting souls through music, BSS is constantly striving to revive, pursue and transform these ancient art forms as well as to connect to the western classical art forms thereby making it relevant, interesting and enjoyable for children, youngsters, artists and art lovers at large.

BSS has ardent volunteers from various walks of life and professions working for this vision to help the society grow artistically and musically rich. We encourage all to come, participate and enjoy the various events and activities that we offer and to make a difference to our artistical experience.

Committee Members

We would like to introduce ourselves as the new BSS committee for this year joined at this challenging time, with pure love for our heritage, in order to carry on and facilitate further the mandate of Bharathiya Sangeetha Sangham, such as, to promote South Indian classical arts and foster the new/future generation into our classical arts heritage. We fully believe that we could do it as a community as the love for our ancestral classical arts and cultural heritage, is beyond comparison. We also take this opportunity to thank from the bottom of our heart all our previous contributors, supporters and committee members without whom we are not what we are today to enjoy this artistic platform.
